Oldham Says

Cracking down on drug-dealing, gangs and antisocial behaviour across Oldham West and Oldham East, the Neighbourhood Priority Team has made over 400 arrests and taken thousands of pounds worth of drugs off the streets.

Oldhamsays.com spoke to Sergeant Rob Howarth about the success of the team and why these results are so important to the community.

He says: “Drug dealing, gang-related crime and anti-social behaviour are the main issues residents want us to tackle. By taking drugs, weapons, and criminals off the streets we are reassuring our communities that we are dedicated to addressing their priority concerns. We are also sending a stark warning to offenders that we are determined to get them off Oldham’s streets and make life safer for our residents.

The film also follows Sgt Howarth and his team as they crackdown on drink-related crime and antisocial behaviour in Oldham Town Centre. Dozens of revellers pass through a knife arch and officers carry out stop and searches and visit pubs and clubs to speak to licensees.
