Oldham Athletic Kickz Partnership Contribution of the Year Award 2010 goes to Oldham’s Challenge and Support Team

Last week, Oldham Athletic Community Trust celebrated the achievements of the young people who have participated in the Kickz project over the last year at the second annual awards night.
One of the most popular projects was the anti-crime 'Streetwise' scheme which was delivered by Oldham Police's Challenge and Support team. This workshop covers challenging issues such as Anti-Social Behaviour, weapons, drugs and alcohol usage. There was also an anti-knife crime poster competition and a match between the police and young people from the Kickz project.
James Mwale from Oldham Athletic said:
"On behalf of Oldham Athletic we feel that the hard work and dedication shown by the Challenge and Support team towards the Kickz project deserved to be recognised. Over the last year they have delivered several workshops which have been invaluable to the project as participants have been able to address issues around crime with knowledgeable and experienced staff. Also due to the time spent at sessions, relationships have been built between the young people and the Challenge and Support staff which will only be a benefit to the Police and community in the future."
